But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:27-30

In the drug culture world, there is a significant time of day, 4:20 pm which is known globally as the universal time to get high. At 4:20 people all over the Earth either by themselves or together get high on marijuana (or other drugs). The 420 Prayer Movement is committed to praying for people who struggle with drug addiction by interceding for them at 4:20 pm.
More specifically, we pray:
1) That the Kingdom of God would break into their
lives in power (1 Corinthians 4:20).
2) That they would leave their current (drug) lifestyle,
in order to follow Jesus (Matthew 4:20).
3) That the Holy Spirit would transform their hearts
into the good soil that hears and accepts God's
Word and bears abundant good fruit (Mark 4:20).
If you personally know people struggling with drug addiction (friends or family members ) then pray for them by name. Ask the Lord the give you prophetic words of hope and encouragement to strengthen your heart to continue to persevere.
Join the 420 Prayer Movement today and begin prayerfully interceding for those struggling with drug addiction.
For many years of my life (15+ years), I was hopelessly addicted to drugs until God divinely and supernaturally intervened into my life and began showing me that 1) He was real, 2) that He cared if I lived or die and 3) that He wanted to restore and redeem my life for His glory. Now, it has been a knock down drag out fight to break me free, but it is truly only by God's amazing grace that am I living a drug-free life with a bright future ahead of me.
On March 2nd, 2009, at 4:20 pm God reminded me of all the people (including many old friends) who were at that moment getting high, but it wasn't until a few days later on March 5th, while I was sitting in my car waiting in line at a local car wash that I felt the Spirit of God tell me to start praying for those getting high at 4:20. So, I prayed that God would intervene into their lives, so that they would encounter Him, the living God, and that He would set them free from their addictions. After praying, I felt God telling me to begin looking through the New Testament at all the 4:20 verses, in order to help guide me in my prayers. So, that's what I did, now as I was reading through these verses three stood out: Matthew 4:20, Mark 4:20 and 1 Corinthians 4:20.
As I further meditated on these verses, I felt the Holy Spirit showing me how I needed to be praying for those struggling with drug addiction. First, I needed to ask that the kingdom of God would break into their lives in power (1 Corinthians 4:20). Secondly, that those getting high would leave their current (drug) lifestyle, in order to follow Jesus (Matthew 4:20). And thirdly, that one day their hearts would be transformed into the good soil that hears and accepts God's Word and bears abundant good fruit (Mark 4:20).
So, this is what I did. I set my alarm clock on my cell phone to go off at 4:20 pm. daily, so that I could begin praying these three verses and interceding for those who were getting high right at that moment. Now, it wasn't until a few days later, when I was telling a good friend of mine about all of this that he said to me: "I'd join you in doing that!" that's when it dawn on me to begin the 420 Prayer Movement.
It's really easy to join, just set your cell phone alarm to 4:20 pm and when it goes off, begin praying the three verses. Now, if you personally know people struggling with drug addiction then I suggest you pray specifically for them by name. Remember, drug addiction is messy and untangling a person's heart from the drug lifestyle is a process. So, the importance in covering the drug addicted with consistent faithful prayer is crucial to their freedom. Thank you for your love, compassion and obedient faithfulness to Jesus' call to set the oppressed free.

A 420 Prayer Card moment:
I am always leaving 420 Prayer Cards on tables on chairs on benches on buses and trains, anywhere and everywhere. Just today, I was meeting some friends at a coffee shop and of course before we left I put one of the cards on the table. Fast forward a few weeks later, I'm meeting with another friend at the same coffee shop when this guy comes in that I met like four months earlier through his brother, who struggles with drug addiction. After giving me an update on his brother, I gave him a 420 Prayer Movement card and began explaining the Scripture passages on the back to him when he says "my mom has one of these cards" (who was actually working at this coffee shop). So, he calls his mom over and shows her the card and she begins to tell me that she found the card on a table (months earlier), read the instructions on the card and immediately set her cell phone alarm to 4:20pm and has been praying the verses for her son since. She says that finding the 420 Prayer Movement card that day was a God send. It was exactly what she needed to give her direction in her prayers for her son and has renewed her hope. Who knew that my leaving a 420 Prayer Card that day would end up in the hands of a person who desperately needed to find hope. I am so amazed at God's sovereignty and His faithfulness. Only He could have orchestrating all of these events. You never know the impact one little prayer card could make. Get some 420 Prayer Cards today!

Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up. 2 We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this. 3 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. 5 You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:1-6 NLT)
